And in this corner....Nicholas

It may look like we beat the boy, but turns out he is just allergic to something. Allergic to what?? Something. We don't know what, the doctor doesn't know what, nobody knows what. The night before last, he came home and had a rash (splotchy) on his legs, face, and arms. No signs of discomfort and no labored breathing, so we just kept an eye on him and after a little while, it went away. The next night, he came home with some slight redness on his face and then developed what started out as ant bites on his eyelids. Well, about 20 minutes later, his eyes started to swell up pretty well. His face got splotchy, and then his left eye got really bad. Again, though, no breathing problems, no fever, no fussy behavior, nothing but this rash and swelling. We took him to the hospital (for good measure) and they gave him a bit of Benedryl (which we had done earlier) and it went down. Luckily, his 4 month check-up was the next day, so we talked to Dr. Dalton at great length. He basically said that it seemed to be an allergy, but no clue what the allergy was related to. Soooo, we just started sleuthing. Meanwhile, the boy is 26.25" long and 14 pounds. 90 percentile for height, but 50 percentile for weight...long and lean and doing well!
